President and Co-Founder Erica Huss is a true representative of the urban study in contrast that makes her a natural fit for the BluePrint ideology. She is a former model and certified yoga instructor with a fondness for martinis and a passionate relationship with cheese, a woman dedicated to a lifestyle of wellness that leaves room for the occasional splurge on the pleasures of good food.
After graduating from Northwestern University with a double major in Theater and French, Erica began her career as a dancer in musical theater. She worked steadily for two years, during which the grueling lifestyle led her to nurture what was already a passionate interest in food and nutrition. She spent her time offstage reading cookbooks, testing her own recipes on friends and family, and meditating on the mantra that food should provide both fuel and pleasure at all times.
This interest soon became a professional pursuit, as she went on to work in some of NYC's top restaurants and catering companies and then spent four years in public relations, representing various clients in the food and wine industries. She also spent a season in food television as a producer on on Lidia's Italian-American Kitchen and worked with Top Chefjudge Ted Allen to develop a series of publicity programs for Robert Mondavi wines.
Having known founder Zoe Sakoutis since they worked together at Ian Schrager's Hudson Hotel in 2001, Erica joined BluePrint as a partner in 2007. With her vast production and P.R. skills and her bonafide credentials as a health-oriented foodie, Erica was an ideal match for the BluePrint project. She is now the marketing force of the brand as well as the architect behind BluePrint's unfailingly high level of customer relations.
